Revolucion Latina

The past three days have been amazing.I just completed an intensive workshop led by Luis Salgado, the Tony Award winning choreographer of  In the Heights and the founder of Revolucion Latina- an organization dedicated to using the arts to effect change in the community. This organization, in addition to offering classes and workshops to artists, also goes to schools all around the city, leading workshops for students and teaching them to empower and embrace themselves thru artistic expression. Their motto, Dare to Go Beyond, encourages people from all walks of life to step outside of their comfort zones, embrace their uniqueness, and to  use your imagination to help create a better world.  In the past three days, I have not only honed my skills as an actor, but  I’ve also made new friends and  learned new techniques. We worked a lot on ensemble building, choreography, improvisation, and so many other things.  Luis offers these workshops free of charge to selected artists , and he has created a space where creativity and expression is supported and embraced in a non competitive atmosphere.  He and his staff are very inspirational and I was so happy to have been able to take this workshop.

Check out their site to learn more about what this amazing organization is doing!!
