MacBeth at Lincoln Center
Last Saturday I had the chance to see Macbeth at Lincoln Center. It was the production that Alan Cumming stars in and in which he plays almost all of the characters himself. (with the exception of a few other actors who have a small number of lines, it is, in essence, a one-man show) This production was directed by Andy Goldberg, ( one of my Shakespeare acting teachers) and it was, simply, amazing. I thought that I had missed my chance to see it, since tickets sold out so fast, but I woke up on Saturday to an email saying that there was a ticket waiting for me at the theatre. Thank you Andy!!!
Mr. Cumming is soo good in this. I loved his effeminate Duncan, Malcolm as a baby, his Lady Macbeth in the bathtub….and I cant imagine how long it must have taken him to memorize the entire play by himself!!
Looks like Katie Holmes achy-breaky heart is healing from the split with Tom already, since she was at the show too, along with her entourage and paparazzi. That was exciting, although I am always floored by how “normal” celebrities seem in “real life”.
Anyways, congrats to all on this amazing production!!
